1ST ANNUAL OPEN HANDICAP SUMMER CLASSIC TOURNAMENT RULES

TOURNAMENT RULES:

1. USBC rules/regulations govern the conduct of this tournament. All members of USBC in good standing are eligible to participate. Non-USBC members can qualify by paying an associate membership fee of $21.00. You can purchase this at www.bowl.com (see page 4). All participants will be required to show their certification cards at check-in time.

2. Those entering doubles must enter singles and vice-versa. Doubles & singles will be bowled consecutively, without any break between events. DOUBLES WILL BE BOWLED FIRST. All doubles and singles will be bowled with 2 or 3 bowlers per lane. It is up to the bowlers to follow this rule. Bowlers can bowl on as many teams as they desire; however, not more than 2 bowlers from the same team can place more than once on the handicap prize list. The bowler’s first team score will count toward the all-events total.

3. Entrants will use their standard book average based on a minimum of 42 games for the 2012-2013 season which can be found on www.bowl.com. If no average last season, use the standard book average based on a minimum of 42 games as of the date of participation in this tournament. All others will bowl scratch for all events. ALL AVERAGES MUST BE VERIFIED PRIOR TO BOWLING. Secretarial verification will be accepted. If a bowler’s standard book average is 15 pins higher than the 2012-2013 book average at the time he/she bowls, that average must be used. It is the bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of their average no matter who may submit the average. Failure to use the correct average or make corrections prior to completion of the 1st game of any series shall disqualify score if average used is below actual average. If higher average is used, prize will be based on that average. Report all prize winnings in past 12 months of $600 or more in accordance with USBC rule 319d.

4. A handicap of 85% will be added to the actual scores bowled using the entry average for the determination of all handicap prizes. Handicap will be based on the difference between 225 and the entering average of bowlers.

5. Prize money will be based on handicap. Prize money will be mailed to Team Captain 30 days after close of tournament. 100% OF PRIZE MONEY IS RETURNED. Distribution of prize money will be based on a ratio of at least 1 for every 8 entries EXCEPT in all-events where the ratio will be at least 1 in 10.

6. Early entry deadline is July 1, 2014. Entries and re-entries will be accepted until the close of the tournament based on lane availability. After an entry has been received and processed by the Tournament Director, no fees shall be refunded. The Tournament Director reserves the right to reject any entry and any entry fee. ONLY CERTIFIED CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS ARE ACCEPTED. NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. SCHEDULING: (a) Preference in dates and times will be given in the order entries are received. (b) All money must accompany entry form. If not, form will be returned. All forms must be complete or priority will be forfeited and entry form returned.

7. The official score recap sheet will be the official record after the game scores have been entered. The official score recap sheets will be audited and obvious errors will be corrected by tournament officials. Protests involving scores/rules must be made prior to payment of tournament prizes.

8. Premature termination to the tournament brought about by war, national emergency or emergency causes relating thereto or there from, fire, natural disaster or any other reason beyond the control of the Money Bags Open Handicap Tournament shall causes, to the extent required thereby, all advertised prizes, guaranteed or otherwise, to be prorated in accordance with the number of entrants who have bowled in each of the respective events up to the time of such termination.
